A Summer of Fun With Custom Promotional Apparel

Last year, I had the honor of being tasked to handle the games during the Summer outing of one of the previous companies I worked in. Facilitating games was one of the things that I liked. In fact, I had a book of games and icebreakers. Before searching for the games, I went to the stockroom of my office to see what corporate giveaways I can consider as prizes for the games.

To spice up the event, I divided the participants into five groups represented by colors – yellow, blue, orange, white, and black. Each had a group leader and every group was tasked to come up with a group cheer. Then I asked each group to bring something to show their camaraderie as a group. Each group was assigned to bring imprinted double old fashioned glasses and wear promotional apparel representing their colors.

Afterwards, I proceeded with gathering the materials I would need for the games. First on the list were imprinted plastic goodie bags. I asked the help of an artist friend of mine to print the name of the teams on each of the plastic bags. I had around twenty pieces and I grouped them into 5 groups of 4 and then tied them together placed them in promotional duffel bags.

Next, I requested the Finance department for some cash to print personalized balls. I had a friend who owns a silk screen printing shop so I was able to solicit his help and got some discount. I used the leftover money to buy additional balls without print.

To make them look organized, I also asked each team to prepare their own promotional banners. The teams liked the idea so they would not mind shelling out a little for the success of the event. Besides, this is held yearly so they are aware of that.
